I utilize boyish wonder to create objects as a means of processing the unfathomably precious and mystifying human existence I was catapulted into. Drawing from experiences in punk spaces, queer nightlife, and being a suburban rascal, I relish in purposeful imperfection. I elect to create more viscerally, honoring the liberation of bawdy spontaneity. The lens I work through is camp, absurdist, sometimes humorous, and theatrical. With this filter, I contemplate self-excavation, spirituality, social critique, gay stuff, and the human condition. Having primarily worked with oil paints, Iām currently invigorated by utilizing a more enticing range of materials, such as ceramics, fabric, lube, makeup, rhinestones, and found objects. In doing so, my pieces are increasingly becoming more three-dimensional. My work activates a bountiful atmosphere for the viewer and I to shed rigidity and tap into our unadulterated selves in order to perceive the shared phenomenon of being alive in a more questioning, self-aware, and liberated manner.
